I read the name dropping descrip and really wanted to--tried hard in fact--to hate this but it's completely irresistible, well executed and superbly directed little piece of comedic filmmaking. Yet again the bar gets raised in music videos. Well done lex halaby.

is that reeeeeallly Martin Star?love that the girl werewolf is always eating and like the twist at the end.
the 50's horror style is a good fit w/ the song, cause it has a kind of hobo-campfire ring to it. were there any period films you used a reference?

@alex: I'm not with Boulevard, but I needed a production co to run the small job through.@luke: Thanks, we had a blast running around the east side with people in werewolf masks never gets old. And yes, that IS Martin Starr as the male werewolf.
@piore: Haha, yeah I figured after the Maistros debacle that description would be understated.

love this. I agree with piore about it raising the bar for music videos. Now is a great time to be coming up with cool narrative ways to use the song and be thankful that the low budgets and omnipresence of outlets allows directors to do this kind of work and get it out there.this kind of thing is the future of music videos, for sure. and if directors are smart, they will be able to do this kind of thing on even bigger canvases, as we all realize that the death of labels means the birth of a different kind of filmmaking opportunity.
the performances, direction, and effects are all executed on such a high scale. im sure this was an insanely low budget if it had a budget at all, and you'd never know it.

I used to just think Lex Halaby had one of the best eyes in the business, but thanks to this video I've come to discover he's also great with dialogue, actors, and narrative, which is why I'm going to eat his brains to gain his knowledge.loz, April 9, 2009 4:07:50 PM CEST
