Peaches - Talk to me (dir: Price James)
Interesting ideas, cool visuals, and solid cinematography but it never really comes together as a whole. The parts, at all times, remain greater than the sum. I think this is partly because the video feels conceptually messy.
The theme is strong and set up from the outset and then we explore some intriguing elements - the most interesting to me was the Dorian Gray parallel with the living portrait. However, these elements don't go anywhere and are set adrift as singular vignettes that have no meaningful connection to the whole and end up presenting themselves as little more than 'fit-the-theme' scenes.
It probably doesn't help that the song is of inconsistent quality and tends to fall pretty hard during the bridge/rap-ish sections. Truth told, I've never really gotten into the whole Peaches thing but a lot of talented artists seem to respect her so there's a good chance I just don't get it.

It's the editing.
I don't know... Her star may be on the descent. The video isn't half as weak as the song.
I'll agree with hipgnosist. Sometimes nice visuals can't fix a less than descent track. l prefer the skanky more unattractive version of Peaches. What happened to the strong synth tones and what's with the lame refrain over and over?
personally, i can dig it. some really really lovely art dept stuff in there, cool freeflowing camerawork, nice edit.
maybe a bit stronger on the perf would be good? but def cool.
