Pill - Trap Goin' Ham (dir: Motion Family)
we got pies flying at us
Man, this has got to me the best hip-hop video i've seen in ages. (Well, except that Mims masterpiece.)
you dummies wouldn't know groundbreaking if it was a reading on your digital sekonic meters.
thats real crack those crackheads are smokinng. try getting a label to back that budget.
Really almotasim? The BEST you've seen in ages? C'mon now.
I DO like it though, mostly cause it does seem pretty real, and that's one gnarly reality they've captured. Yikes!
Got a bit repetitive after a minute, just constantly doing that scale-up-punch-in edit over and over.
Wish they got some nighttime footage but I don't blame the director for not wanting to risk his life any more that day.
Watching bums get angry and smoke crack on camera fascinates me though.
Well, SAG rules state that real crackheads deserve real crackhead crack, so that's only fair.
also, this vid makes me miss my blu-blocks. Give me back my blu-blockers, Lake Bottom.

Bloghind The Scenes
Part of oppressing people is perverting them to the point of them becoming their own form of oppression.

You guys all got duped. This is a sly corporate viral for Newport cigarettes.
Wow, the photographer's account of the production seems to fall in line with exactly what I imagined it to be like. They used that still camera with the HD video mode huh? How many people are out there making music videos like that? Does that have an advantage over something like the Sony EX1 or EX3?
I'd say the main advantage is the body of the canon still camera is about 1/2 the price of the ex3, yet you still get 1080 HD video and an interchangeable lens system.
Couple that with the fact that you also have a badass SLR camera to boot and it seems like a good option for those not wanting to take the plunge on a video camera that will probably be obsolete in 2 years.
Yeah but have you tried shooting on one? The camera refuses to let you set aperture and shutter settings manually you basically have to trick it to make it work like a camera. Add to that the flimsy feel, obtuse post workflow and the need for expensive camera rigs and it starts to drain my enthusiasm. Basically anything you want to do with that camera requires some sort of half-assed work around. Supposedly they put out firmware updates to allow more manual control but don't plan to shoot with one without trying it out first.
I've used it with the firmware update and there are no issues at all with setting the aperture or shutter manually. As far as the workflow you just plug the camera or card reader straight into the computer and drag the .mov files to your drive or desktop. This is actually one step less than having to log and transfer those damn p2 cards.. My main issue is that you can only shoot @ 30fps
like i said before, that why you need a real video camera to shoot music videos.
this video is bullshit. and so is poak chops. and fry that chicken.
you obviously dont know your nwa
I'm not commenting on the merits of this video.
I was just answering dudes question above about why someone would choose to shoot with a SLR camera.
