Prodigy - "Take Me To The Hospital" Dir. Paul Dugdale?
vhs, the new 8 mil? i hate vhs and i am not impressed with the video. the only interesting part is when the crazies spray the ambulance.
the format is not the only thing that makes it feel like this is a lost video from 10 years ago. the music and the video itself are all harking back to what made prodigy popular in the first place. which is either a good thing, or not such a good thing...
I actually like the crunchy vhs, but Im not sure its helps the prodigy look not dated.
My main problem with this video is the shot of them jumping around in front of the black ambulance, after the crazies, it really slows down the last part of the video.
vhs look is cool when its actually shot on an actual vhs or vhs-c camera à la 'be kind rewind'
the problem is when its been shot hi-def then dumped onto vhs, this will only ever look contrived.
I like it that they go back to their more "performance like" videos, like they did Poison, Firestarter, No good etc, , featuring the band but not in a life context. Anway this is filmed preetty unstylish, looks more like a "we wanna be prodigy video" from the nineties. I think they should definetely take some money in their hand look out for a new talent and invest. Their music video DVDs are going to sell for the next 30 years and pay their rent, so they better come up with some really high quality stuff to put on.
