Blue Roses "Doubtful Comforts" (Dir: A NICE IDEA EVERY DAY)
3D-ish musicvideo that works without 3D glasses!

Something is wrong with your video compression. Kinda jittery.
ah, do you mean that it's shaking? it's been shot with two cameras and switches every 3rd frame from one to the other to create a 3D effect.
J. Cameron is quakin
;-)
very nice, a better take on the stereoscopic gif-to-video thing than the last few attempts I've seen. What say you, Legion? (You get around to messing with this stuff yet?)
track was pretty, too.
Um, the stereoscopic gif thing is basically trying to make a still image look like it's moving, right? Isn't that essentially what all video is?
That GIF trick was interesting for about 30 seconds, then everyone with a hard-on for Helvetica, and "minimal design" decided they'd go on and puke it all over their blogs.
budget, stereoscopic 3D takes two images (displayed side-by-side), and combines them so that, when viewed correctly, they appear three dimensional. Usually with some kind of glasses. Autostereographic 3D attempts to do it without needing to use a viewing tool. I've never been able to see those kinds of images myself.
This video is neither stereoscopic or autostereographic. So it is in no way 3D.
Exactly, right? Isn't it basically accomplishing what all videos with camera movements do- which is to use all three axis to show an image? I mean, couldn't you just shoot a person standing in front of a background and then rotate the camera?
fam, don't tell me this doesn't tickle your balls just a lil bit :)
to make it even more confusing :-) same material, good old 3D
watch with left red, right cyan glasses. so, the video is the same 3D stuff, only switching from one camera to the other so that you don't need glasses to watch it...
BOF: Yes! They're tingling. But only because the content is so damn engaging. Nice meme.
vivien: That last one is stereoscopic 3D, yes. But this video as presented in the original post isn't. Might be more watchable without every third frame showing a slightly different angle.
unwatchable art school trash
I like that GIF trick a lot but this implementation, oddly enough, makes scenes look... flat. Interesting nonetheless.
