Fantastic!
well, not quite so. a lighter version - with more of a tickle than a punch line - of smack my bitch up, shot with what i assume is a 10.5mm and a rig, which becomes quite tedious to watch after one minute or so.
I enjoyed it the whole way through though I think I lost the narrative after a while. Must of been fun to shoot.
i was totally in it. but i thought ending would've been much better if hand reached up and grabbed her boob. like it was all just to get laid. that wouldve been cooler IMO
This is great. Track is banging. Very interesting, held my attention all the way. Nice photography. Great edit. I'm in love with that girl.
it's been done before and it's been done better. cute girl, though.
No it didn't hold my attention despite being beautifully shot.
Because the track is too laid back for a POV video, and it reminds me too much of Smack My Bitch Up. That's the thing about such a great video is that either you reinvent it if that video is a conscious inspiration. I love the cinematography and the best thing of it.
Great work on the tech credits, handicap was the track it's all a matter of taste though.
Show me one POV video (BESIDES Prodigy) that's done this kind of thing better. I don't believe it exists.
If you're not feeling it, I question your overall taste.
To me, the laid back track with the crazy visuals fits nice. If it was an uppity vibe then THAT would be a rip off of "SMBU".
I'll take this over every single video Beyonce has ever made.
yeah, the POV is done well. yeah, the girl is well cute. but it's so cheeseball and preachy it comes off like a low-budget PSA.
& this is despite my love for inventive (even gimmicky) cinematography. the plot plays out like a high-school english assignment (esp. w/ the CYOA-esque flashbacks), & when the big stylistic precedent is the Prodigy vid, maybe it's wise to try an idea that doesn't involve troublemaking?
that being said, i am curious, are there other good POV MVs?
erm, i liked it. (great edit.)
Very nice work & a pretty fresh take on pov too. More Run Lola Run than SMBU. The "plot" could have used some rinnging out, but overall a well executed effort.
Dig it.
"POV" stands for "point of view" which doesn't actually define anything. So technically this is a "1st person POV". That said, here is an interesting thread from metafilter talking about 1st person POV in films (and yes, they mention the Prodigy video as well): ask.metafilter.com
"POV" as in shot defines what we are looking at, represented by the camera. It means everything.
Still like the video, it's very good stuff. It could benefit from less sweetness and more balls. That's just my opinion, it does it well.
Oh for example of POV done well (as well as it's finest example) look above.
And below.
