I hate Rihanna but that video was STELLAR. I like the whole pop art chameleon idea. Doesn't work with the song too well but I like it.

         

Melina does seem to "sample" from a lot of different people. Grace Jones, Neneh Cherry, MIA, Basquiat Warhol, Haring but I dont think in this instance it is a bad thing. Sick video.

         

I think the people accusing Rihanna of stealing MIA's look aren't getting the video. Rihanna is a pop art chameleon in the video, transforming from Warhol screen prints, to Haring street art, and to a 90s dancehall vibe. Kinda like Cindy Sherman...i guess. I dont think Rihanna is going to change her look to match MIA now. Ha!

Oh no the bad is good idea is being taken seriously by people who don't actually know what good is.

Also have the horse and balloon head pics. Can find them on fffound. But we've been through that all before... actually kind of liked that part of the video.

         

@ scorpy, 90's Dancehall......apart from Dave Kelly n' Cutty Ranks, what exactly were the other highlights of that era?
