Absolut "I'm Here" short film : Dir. Spike Jonze
Does anyone know how to rip this?
Pretty great; love the movie theatre format. The bearded guy in the car, the whining old lady and the magician at the party were the highlights for me. I wish the sound track was a bit more underground. Spike's audience has heard Girls, Of Montreal and Animal Collective a thousand times. In terms of the screenplay, I wish the robot social lives were fleshed-out with a more unique culture. (ie Where did they come from? Why is there no robot store to buy her a new leg?)
Yeah agreed. The piece feels more interested in showcasing indie sentiment(s) than figuring out it's own story....
Beautiful craftsmanship all around and some really really nice moments but falls a little as a whole.

(The file is Flash Video with H.264/AAC tracks)
DEK: I wish I knew how to execute what you posted on that link. I'm on a mac, how do I grab it if I wanted to....?
I really enjoyed this, and agree with jesse in regards to music. Would be interested to see how many days it took to shoot, considering nearly every exterior shot was magic hour. In some ways I actually preferred to this to 'Wild Things" as I thought Wild Things may have worked better in short format.
that was like electroma for 6th graders.
Lusk, older version (up to 1.5) were ported to OS X and binaries can be found via torrent (the stream is not encoded, so any version will do fine). But it's easier to find a friend on a PC. This way you can also use FLV Extract to demux the F4V file and MP4Box to turn it into a legit MPEG-4 file (I did it to be able to watch it on my TV)
