Mew - "Beach" (Dir. Martin De Thurah, Adam Hashemi, Lasse Martinussen)

god, martin always knows exactly where to put the camera. and who's the colorist?
(hd mp4 here.)
DeThurah should've directed the entire video. The middle dies completely (and I can't believe they sabotaged Vibskov's work with such cheap images) and the final third is a cool aid party. As if we, like the kids, and meant to drink up and call this wonderful (...or die).
This doesn't work as a full piece at all.
i'm with '81. killer open, then sad trombone sound.
Yeah, the opening was brilliant, I was gasping to know what was about to happen and then let down by idealess cg.
disappointing.
my suspicion: the opening is hashemi. (might be wrong, 'course...) update: confirmed. (explains why the prodco mentions the directors in the order AH, LM, MDT.)
I agree that the opening is vastly move evocative than the rest but Mew always makes dreamy music.
