Rhymefest ft Phonte "Say Wassup" (dir: Konee Rok) [3D]
Is it really the first 3D hip-hop video? Does anybody know other 3D music videos?
Ok, but when the Ching-A-Ling video released, was it possible to watch it in 3D in the Internet?
almo: Björk - Wanderlust (ignore the bogus warning.)
also: 3-D is only viewable on TV and web (and any other non-projection medium) as red-blue [actually: red-cyan] anaglyphs - a technology that debuted in 1922, so, yes, ever since color TV/color computer screens it's been possible to watch this kind of 3-D.
Thanks a lot, prog. But what about this U2B stereoscopic imaging?
another (kind of) 3D musicvideo...
I think it switches beetween 2 cameras every frame.
almo - they're offering various shades of on-the-fly anaglyph rendering: red-cyan or amber-blue is the same stuff, just requiring different colour glasses. their "interleaved" option is, in theory, for 3-D TV's (good luck with that), and the other options require crossing/screwing your eyes.
mta's link shows something very similar to what is projected (only at higher speed) in "active" 3-D systems, where you wear glasses that have syncronised lcd shutters which alternately open and close the left and right eye, so as to get the correct picture to the correct eye, quickly enough that the scene flows naturally. in cinemas and gaming systems there's an iR beam that syncs the image projection and the glasses - whoever invents a web/iPad-able syncing solution, will wear a sizable crown.
thanks for all your wisdom prog! :)
In did, prog. Thanxs a LOT!
it's interesting how few people are at all versed in stereo, given all the current hullabaloo 'bout it. we're just finishing a sizeable stereo project, and it's my faible to like to know what i'm doing.
@progosk
What are you guys shooting on? How did you tackle genlock?
I'm just curious because I shot some stereoscopic stuff on Reds, SI-2Ks (beam splitting, Element Technica rig) and, most recently, a test with side-by-side ungenlocked 5Ds.
@mta
I haven't seen that video before, but it seems like either the cameras are too far apart or they're not converged correctly. Hurts the eyes.
we avoided the issue altogether: the project was shot "flat", majorly greenscreen + CG; the CG was rendered stereo, and the live-action converted. can't say too much more about it just yet...
@ rgallager
it was posted on antville a while ago,... some shots def work better than others. I think the wide shots with the triangle are quite amazing, but the close–ups are not 3D at all!
there is also a missy elliot video in 3D
prog's stereo project
future of (single-viewer) stereo 3-D...
