I found this fun, sure some of the effects are pretty ugly, but it kept me watching throughout.
definitely pretty ugly. most of the ideas i felt fell short. edit was pretty lackluster as well.
ehhh too twee. Just feels too much like this should be a video for a no-name indie band. I miss the "hipsters as noble savages" era MGMT.
definitely sucks. i can't believe they let this one get out the door b/c i'm sure the treatment looked just as bad as the final product.
As Daniels said, the worst MGMT video. At least itΒ΄s a little different of what we were expecting by So Me (I was expecting a video of pants with the lyrics changing...) The pity is that this is ugly... Anybody know the budget, camera used, etc?

that Jamaica video he did was ok, but i heard it was the band's idea and So Me only half directed it. agreed. good AD, not so great director.
This looks like a fucking joke. And the AD is not even that good. FX are ugly and photo is boring as hell. thumbs down.
Are people saying AD when they really mean DP, or is So Me really an AD?
Or they're using AD as short for art director? Cause if so, that's really confusing on set.

I like the idea of this but definitely feel like it's poorly directed. However this is the first live action video he has directed?
