Interpol - "Lights" (DIR: Charlie White)
LOVE
amazing.
very smart, but i wonder how it would look with out the dips to black, felt a bit intrusive after the first few.
nice styling etc.
Too slowww
so it seems like she'll be giving birth to a healthy brick boy. i think they have got too many half ideas for the story, but it doesnt really matter when the video looks this sexy. also, videos.antville.org
Let's be honest, even dudes posting links to this on their design blogs are just skimming it. Boring!
Saam meets Tarsem dipped in slow motion. Garnished with some old Tool videos perhaps.
Slick visuals but kinda sleepy to watch.
Liked it for what it is. As Legion says looks sexy and the saam / tarsem refs are valid... but it also has some sort of vague conceptual storyline which works for me.
BTW the above link is dead.
I'm calling for an official moratorium on ornate hairstyles, cloaks, faux bodily fluids, oddly shaped obelisks and purposefully non-nonsensical narratives... who's with me?
Very Frank Herbert's wet dream.
This video fits the song. That's more than I can say for alot of the stuff I see today.
Nice slow pace, for the vid asian girls are a little tired (every white band's fetishistic accessory) and could do without the opening caption. Opening captions suck. Nice build up to the black box.
Only thing I didn't like was lack of closing shot. The end is not great, and that's the whole "I gotta make you think" portion of concept vids that gripes me. Only two things in an otherwise spectacular video.
My God this was way too slow and ponderous. Yeah sure nice costumes/make-up etc, but it was pretty empty, the fade to blacks were lazy filmmaking, but I guess that what happens when you've only really one lighting set-up/shot. That said the song was equally dull, but the cum-drinking shot at the start was funny.
@victus - Very inline with your comments.
Nice visuals, kept me trailing along, but I'm still feeling like I'm still waiting for something.
