Brandon Flowers - Crossfire - DIR: Nash Edgerton
although i personally like this... a lot... it doesn't do much to sell brandon flowers as an artist - or an actor... but the charlize theron feature film thing is entertaining.
on another note this reminds me a bit of the new maroon 5 video... the female ass kicking at least.
i'm left wanting more coverage and performance
this feels very tame. the budget constraints are extremely apparent through the sets. i wonder if nash shot a little more edgier shit & was cut down in post.
the concept is fresh, the execution is suspect.
sinility? really? The only thing that says budget to me in this is the number of setups. I don't love the ninjas but the sets look great and I thought this was very well executed.
poodle parlor & a bit of smoke.

i think these cats pull a better performance than charlize theron and her ninjas
It looks like Poodle Parlor to you, and I, because we are the .0001% of the people that will see this video that has shot at the location. I think they did a great job utilizing poodle parlor to its full potential and got numerous setups out of it that if you DIDNT know you would think were different locations. All in all, a fun, video that looks great.
Execution is ok, as far as a B-grade action film goes. Concept and idea?... no better than the lack of maturity and originality exhibited in his feature film 'The Square'.
Color grade = tragedy.
at least charlize makes it memorable. without her it would be an utter wreck. i keep seeing scenes in my head with the music. but in my head it's better.
Color grade tragedy? seriously? what are you talking about? It looks good, has a nice gritty action movie look. Beau is no shlub when it comes to grading, as his many awards will prove.

yeah, not sure how the grade qualifies as a tragedy. Looks great to me.
i like the look too... it just needs more action. it also looks digital in one spot... a small shutter issue in the beginning of the night/ truck scene. redcam?
'Gritty action movie' says it all. Color grade under direction of Nash, so probably not Beau's fault. The color grade of 'The Square' really stood out to me as being quite terrible as well.
Thats just my taste though, difference of opinion, no biggy really.
mediocre grade & photography
