It was clearly a filmed-while-on-tour video...her scenes were probably hammered out in an afternoon in a hotel suite somewhere.

Not to dog the video, just sayin.

I really like this and I found that it held my interest more than Joseph Kahn's latest for Nicole Scherzinger. I say that as someone who thinks highly of Kahn's work in music videos.

But Kahn's Nicole wasn't all that great and, although Robyn's video is extremely contained, it never comes off like it's missing anything. Instead, it feels like an addition, albeit a small one, to the music video genre. The new Nicole is just another rehash.

I guess I always find it particularly refreshing to see something creative and alluring achieved on a tiny budget. It reminds me that honed talent is still the ultimate arbiter in the money-matters world of filmmaking.
