Denki Groove - Fake it!, Dir. Hideyuki Tanaka
synchro... synchro system...!
(hungrymov)
pretty amazing, hope they didn't hit & hurt each other in the water ... -
yeah this is great. some really classy compositing work to boot as well.
great!
incredible.Best choreography in a while.
lusk: why's it seems to me this is just choreographed and live? do the underwater shots look composited to you?
Prog: The underwater shots are the ones that look most believeable to me. But again, that could be because it's such an easy (blue) key and you could simply luma (the whites) to create a very believable composite all around.
It's when they're jumping. I totally feel like this was done in camera, but it looks like the space between each jump was slightly shortened in post. Or, maybe doubled. Like every other jump is a diver, and they simply put two plates together to give the illusion of back to back jumps.
Also note: Camera moves are done digitally (which means these were locked off plates). Even the one that is supposed to feel handheld (:54) has strange tracking/keyframe like movement to it.
It doesn't look composited [mostly], that's why the compositing is classy.
There's real choreography here, but I doubt any excessively dangerous stuff.
The way it is shot and edited seems to have expedient post in mind.
Also, the song is called Fake It!
Love how much action is happening in the frame at once. Definitely a monthly fave.
dope
eagle-eye, lusk: at the res of the mov even I can start to make out the artefacts.
best video i saw this week.
RAD and refreshing but the obvious compositing kills it's value for me. some of the shots look great but some just look bad. a good idea regardless.
