4Minute - "Huh" – "Who’s Next" ft. BEAST, Dir: ?

Might be Hong Wingi's work?
Kinda overlooked this crew from Cube Entertainment, a 2009 rookie group (linked to JYP Entertainment via Cube Board’s Prez, tho’ none of its artists are on JYP’s roster)
Seem well positioned on the KPop hierarchy ladder with a solid video track output, 2NE1'ish in music style and looks!

‘Boy Band’ BEAST aka B2ST, are also well known to KPop fans (Also a Cube Entertainment client)
4minute’s lead rapper /singer HyunAh features in a rash of other artists videos
u2b is blocked in America.
How big is the KPop/JPop industry anyway?
This seems to work
Probably coz its on that bloody u2b VEVO channel I'll change the above link Thanks Kev
The Jpop market is the second largest market in the world after the U.S Kpop is way way down, doesn't seem to be as large as Norway This link to shows countries share of the global market
Its said the popularity of Kpop is on the up, whilst American pop is not expanding further out east And how far Jpop can further infiltrate the western market than it has already I do not know Korean artists (of the idol type) are already exporting to Japan and have their eyes on expanding into the American market Its a relativity new phenomena too, since the first Korean music wave went bust in the 90's I think they are better suited to cross over than Jpop artists are but that's only my opinion
A good resource and readable essay taken from the "Seoul Weekly" Going into some depth ostensibly on how the non indie Korean Music Industry operates
Hmm
I did some light searching earlier today and found two videos by Girls' Generation (previously) that have 30M+ views on YouTube. Those are the highest I could find, but there are a smathering of others that are in the same range.
Those are numbers that are in the same arena, roughly, as today's Western pop(-slash-hip-hop) scene.
I'm not quite sure what u are saying here Kev or u think I was pitching? I was not implying there is going to be a tsunami of all conquering Korean Stars swamping everything Western before them Rather I was suggesting a very small number would break through bit by bit, drip by drip
Korean blogs are full of gossip of certain group members 'commuting' to check out European producers they also state a number have already worked with US producers
The Korean album sales of Girls' Generation last year only amounted to 300,000 units Sure its good enough to earn them the tile of the best-selling artist of 2010, but its not large if compared to any number of western stars
Still whilst welcome it is not how Korean Agencies make the majority of their money That's why its useful to read the essay (all four parts) It's not a long article either
Japan is another ball game, their set-up is totally different from Kpop and if u ask me they don't care too much to deal with the West Anyway its half three in the morning here, Mubarak still hasn't fallen! I'm off to bed
Nothing implied. I'm just curious as to their popularity in relation to the popularity of Western acts and their videos.
ok mate later, Im gone zzzzzz
