Why the Bergmanisms? Are there other film recreations in here I'm not seeing?

         

I really don't know what to make of a group of individual directors going under the one name of CANADA that all make the same video over and over again.

Formula = good looking hipsters re-enacting moments from known film, art and fashion randomly edited together into 3 minutes of vagueness.

I kind of enjoy the moments but find the whole thing tiring. The El Guincho video was one thing but come on this is getting ridiculous.

         

Vignettes of references of homages of other people's ideas completely stripped of meaning or context. Joyless and meaningless. A video designed by an image aggregation website.

And yet, the El Guincho video is one of the best of the year...

         

But you can't expect the same response when you repeat the same video 5 times. I also still think the El Guincho video idea and all subsequent Canada videos are ripped from Schofield's 'Heaven Can Wait' video and even though I like it, for that reason as well as the amount of images that are blatantly stolen in that video, I for one wouldn't give it a credit of one of the best of the year.
