Totally insane, I like.
woah
so good!
Harajuku girl! Great video! This song reminds me a great deal tho' of a mix Nakata would cut for 'Perfume'!
Anyone got any info on the director? (or more vids)
Can only find this video from 2009 which he animated:
Towa Tei - Mind Wall
@ greg u probably should be looking for "Tamdem"
Jun Tamukai is part of Caviar, alongside with Takeshi Nakamura (who directed the Towa Tei video) Yuichi Kodama, Shizuka Kurokawa, Yusuke Tanaka and Takuya Demura. Here's their official website: www.caviar.ws
The MV credits are listed only on the Japanese page, but the directors' names are written in the latin alphabet.
Jun Tamukai doesn't have his own page, however there is a page for tamdem, which is made up of Jun Tamukai and Takura Demuya. Maybe because this music video is the first he directed alone, I couldn't find anything else on another video he'd have directed. Here are the videos in the music videos category which are listed on tamdem's page though, however it's not stated they directed them, so maybe they did something else than directing.
2008 木村カエラ (Kaela Kimura) - Jasper video.sina.com.cn
SAWA - Stars www.youtube.com
2007
KAN TAKAGI - T.I.M.E feat. スチャダラパー , VERBAL and LUPE FIASCO www.youtube.com
And they made footage to be projected during concerts:
2008
木村カエラ (Kaela Kimura) - Jasper for the +1 tour www.dailymotion.com
Salyu - Merkmal It's not specified on the page whether Merkmal is the name of a song, concert or DVD, so here are the two possibilities I narrowed down.
The date listed is 2008, the only concert Salyu gave in 2008 was called "my whereabouts" according to Wikipedia, and I didn't find any trace of a song called Merkmal. She also released a best album during the same year, which was titled Merkmal. The CD+DVD limited edition included a DVD called "2008.9.17 Motion Blue YOKOHAMA", which is footage of the concert "my whereabouts".
She did have a tour called Merkmal, but that was in 2009. Maybe the footage for Merkmal tour was produced in 2008. Here's a playlist of a concert from Merkmal tour www.youtube.com
robodrug answered before me, haha. Anyway, this all the information I could find, the Caviar website doesn't link the Naked Arms music video which they talk about in the link robodrug posted, so I guess the site hasn't been updated for sometimes. They may have shot other music videos these past few years, but I didn't find anything.
Here is a link to the Naked Arms music video anyway. pann.nate.com
wowza...
Thanks alot guys, I'll check out the links and vids now!
I don't know, but ain't Takeshi Nakamura responsible for directing "Stars"? Think the 'tamdem' crew may have done the graphic element of the clip. I put loads of the other 'Caviar' guy's stuff on the 'ville years ago including "Stars" but can't find jack now with the 'find' menu Seems only "Take Me to the Disco" posted by 'kev' and Yuichi Kodama's clip "I My Me Mine" by Polysic's still exist in the archive! Wha'happen?
I just mentioned Stars because it's on tamdem's page.
Unfortunately, they don't say who exactly did what on Caviar's website, just that tamdem do directing and motion graphics. But the youtube link to the Stars video I posted does state that Nakamura is the director, so your hunch is probably right.
Also I found an interview with Nakamura here public-image.org It states that Nakamura did the directed the Jasper music video and that tamdem did the CG.
Just found out that if you search for a song or artist's name on Space Shower TV's website, they tell you who's the director. You can't search for directors' names unfortunately. www.spaceshowertv.com
Nakamura is listed as SAWA's Stars director However Kaela Kimura's jasper director is stated to be "CAVIAR tamdem", which conflicts with the interview of Nakamura I posted the link of,which states tamdem only did the CG. tamdem are listed as directors for T.M.Revolution's Naked Arms video.
Ace work, this.
