Thirteen and 1/2 Questions with Director Andy Bruntel

"There can be something rather Zen about rotoscoping and animation but I get a little depressed when I spend weeks on end alone in a room in front of a computer screen. Last year I adopted a dog. Someday I'll teach him to hold a Wacom pen and all the Final Cut keyboard shortcuts."
The Directors Bureau's Andy Bruntel has shot videos for Rilo Kiley, The Mountain Goats, Stephen Malkmus, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, and No Age. We catch-up with Andy coming off his recent MTV premier of No Age "Eraser" in our ongoing series Thirteen and 1/2 Questions, and discuss his new video, design influences, film, music, and his significant breaks along the way.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST:
Mysterious red dress chick! Pointless driving about! Pretentious cutaways! COSMIC ending!
Lacks a reference to a Stones greatest hits album though.
(Note: for some reason In Flames' European label, Nuclear Blast, credits this to Patric Ullaeus)
Weirdly, while the MJ vid is in my opinion more prettily shot, and SFX at end of this vid is a little cheap and cheerful, I like this one better. I think it comes down to the band feeling more committed and a childish glee at the bit at the end. Bit at end of MJ vid just made me think of Feist.
Clinic 'Tomorrow' (Dir. W.I.Z)
FEIST loves Counting to the Number 4 on Sesame Street.
Fall Out Boy "Beat It" Shane Drake (For spl33nidoru & progosk)
