Brief courtesy of videostatic.com: Centuries of war have plunged the world into a post-apocalyptic nightmare that looks like a more surreal version of The Road Warrior. The quest in this video for modern metalheads The Sword is for booty unknown, but it's all for naught since there's a nasty doublecross in the end. Religious overtones abound — the "hero" and crew carry an ark to the final destination, while one of the main clues along the way is a sort of burning bush, but in the form of a beast with Menorah-worthy antlers. The video has a painted-on animation style, courtesy of some After Effects work done in collaboration with Blacklist and Mass Market

The video tells the story of a spectacular crash that befalls KT
Tunstall as she competes in a Ski flying championship. This has been
realised by combing footage shot for Werner Herzog's 1973 film "The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner" and a location shoot in Norway.

WARNING: NO motion graphics software programs were used in the making of this video! Instead, just good old fashioned paper templates, magic markers, quicktimes, and lots of trial and error. Shot with a Canon PowerShot SD600 and a Panasonic 24p. Edited on iMovie.

This year the Moving Image section of Synch Festival focuses on the direct relationship between music and image as well as on their interaction in the form of music video. Therefore, we invite you to send your MUSIC VIDEOS– of amateur or professional level, a basic element of which will be innovation and experimentation in dealing with the “music-image” interaction. The video clip material that will be sent to us from different parts of the world will form the primary projection tool during the festival period. The aim of this action is the communication and presentation of different, alternative routes of cinematography and music-image interaction, to an international audience. This call is targeted to all of you, amateur and professional directors, creative minds, music bands, artists. It is a chance to present your work internationally. So, get off your couch and SHOW ME THE MUSIC!!! Send your entries until April 30, 2008.

Sorry, don't have a still as am on location. Vimeo (better res) version here. A simple performance video with a nice use of focus. Plus, pretty girls and diamonds. Was fiercely low budget and done in only 4 takes (plus an additional 3 of just the bridge). So, yeah, 2 rolls of Super16 only.

»backup.clipaward« We are looking for experimental music videos, which create an extraordinary symbiosis of film and music under the use of different media and technologies.

The task is to make pictures audible and tones visible.

The contributions should not have been finished before the 01.01.2006 and should not be longer then 7 minutes.

An independent jury of film and television makers, producers, designers as well as media theorists will award a prize to the best works.

Deadline 15.04.2008

All contributions should be sent before the deadline and they should include one preview-DVD, stills, a dialogue list, a synopsis as well as a biography and filmography.
