Ted Hearne - "Barbara Bush 9.5.05"
Ted Hearne - Barbara Bush 9.5.05 from Satan's Pearl Horses on Vimeo.
"Barbara Bush 9.5.05" is from the album Katrina Ballads by Ted Hearne. The text in "Barbara Bush 9.5.05" is taken from an interview on American Public Media's Marketplace after Barbara visited Hurricane Katrina refugees in the Houston Astrodome.
Produced and Directed by Satan's Pearl Horses
KATRINA BALLADS is an hour-long song cycle by Ted Hearne, performed by 5 singers and a band of 11 musicians. Drawn entirely from primary source-texts from the week following Hurricane Katrina - including everything from first-person testimonies of survivors to George W. Bush’s infamous “heckuva job” – Katrina Ballads calls us to remember our experiences during that week in August and September 2005. Like American music and New Orleans itself, Katrina Ballads is an omnivorous and multistylistic work.

DRiNK ME! ( 2010 )
Directed by Bob Gallagher & Séamus Hanly
Music by Giulio "Julyo" D'Agostino, Reece Wardrop and Steven Conroy Lyrics by Martyna Halas
Mastered by Jamey Staub ( Perimeter Studios, NYC )
Lyrics:
I can't help but fall for the sparkle in your eyes Curiosity in the corner of your smile Your perfume tells me stories of a certain night Will you leave your fingerprints on my skin tonight?
I am a sip of wine you're so desperate to try Drink me before sunrise, before I change my mind
We're of the same species, we're of the same kind It's not where I belong but that's what makes it right All I know about you is that you'd like to play Aside are put our feelings, aside is put my name
I am a sip of wine you're so desperate to try Drink me before sunrise, before I change my mind
Will I regret the sparkle I've just seen? Will I forget the sweetest taste of guilt? You are a sip of wine I'm so desperate to try Let me drink you now before I change my mind

Ford Fiesta - "This is Now" / “The Mole Man” by SchwaB (directed by Scott Lyon, NOT Michel Gondry)
Creative team was Andy Bird (art) and Sue Higgs (copy) with Camilla Herberstein as creative director. The spot was directed by Scott Lyon from Outsider films. The music is “The Mole Man” by Schwab.
Now, the mantra of Michel Gondry is to choose quantity over quality, because quantity stays while quality fades away but it seems director Scott Lyon took (and I do mean took) Gondry's style too far by stealing clips from The Director's Series, Vol. 3 and Mr. Lyon gets the paycheque from Ford. Basically copying his style and even his musical choices (e.g. that SchwaB song sounds awfully too close to The White Stripes) makes me want to go wash myself with DVD copies of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Was it a homage to Gondry? Creative plagiarism? Will I eat breakfast tomorrow? THESE QUESTIONS NEED ANSWERING!
