Hassan Opeyemi also known as Ms. Chief is a Nigerian rapper/singer who began her journey into the music industry in 2011 with her first single titled ‘ Wanting’ and a second titled ‘slow’ in 2012.
In April 2013, she released her first project titled THE BOSSLADY EP which featured notable acts such as Yemi Alade, and the late Zara and Dagrin, just to mention a few and also gained major recognition with the single ‘that girl’ featuring wizkid. Night Birds alludes to a story of a young couple who decide not to be together yet because the world is stuck in senseless violence, separation, and injustice. They decide to turn into night birds until humanity has had a consciousness transformation that eliminates war, hunger/poverty, and injustice. Of course, the song is as much a set of images and that's just one possible interpretation. Ultimately, it's about belief that a better world is possible and the comfort, love, and support that we provide to each other along the journey.
