Monsieur Job “Chow Chow eyyy Pow Pow”
The industry is thrilled to present Monsieur Job’s staggering first release; “Chow Chow eyyy Pow Pow”! This project – created and led by Basswalk Latino’s executive head; Jose Fernando Holguin – is surely to take it’s wings to the masses. This brilliant song was written by Toby Holguin & Stan Kolev, that features Martin Cintron, singer and guitar player from the recognized nineties band; “No Mercy”. In this single we can sense a mix of Latin grooves with a beautiful blend of organic elements and modern urban beats, produced with top notch quality.
Monsieur Job, is an eclectic band conformed by Toby Holguin from Cali, Colombia, Stan Kolev from Sofia, Bulgaria, Charlie Illera from Barranquilla, Colombia, and Leo Jaramillo from Bogota, Colombia. All of them come from live bands and Toby, Stan, and Charlie spin records as DJs constantly for different pools and venues around the world. Moreover, Toby mentioned the idea to Stan to start doing Urban Music besides Chill Out and Electronic Music, which they were making for the album “Bass Passi”. Furthermore, they agreed and started dropping broken beats with a more festive, shaky, groovy caribbean latin flavuor turning it into an international exclusive mash up of world talents.
For their debut release, Monsieur Job’s fuse diverse talents by inviting artists such as; Marty of No Mercy, Kiño, Luis Carlos Toro, Alejandro Gomes Caceres, Sarah Sophia, Elemece, Thiago, Christian Gimenez, Vojke Djans, Diego Caceres, Oscar Moncada, Denis Dzigal, Cholo, Vick D, Mc Lions & Bingi, Kid Corrupt, Dave Floyd, Nacho Alvarez, Pablo Bendov and Aldo Cadiz therefore mixing a variation of many styles recreating genres like Reggaetón Electrónico, Dancehall, Reggae, Dub, Tropical House, Rock, Chill Out, Rap, Trap, Hip Hop, Worship, and Son Montuno involving Afro Cuban and African Succu rhythms. This album was recorded in Bogota and Miami at Basswalk Studios, Outta Limits Studios in Miami, and Barba Studios in Belgrade and mastered at Sterling Studios, New York.

Cyndi Lauper ft. Billy Porter, Stark Sands - Not My Father's Son (Acoustic Version)
CYNDI LAUPER DROPS TOUCHING MUSIC VIDEO “NOT MY FATHER’S SON” – EMOTIONAL SONG FROM HER HIT BROADWAY MUSICAL KINKY BOOTS RE-IMAGINED AND RELEASED AS NEW SINGLE – Featuring Billy Porter and Stark Sands!
Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winning artist and activist Cyndi Lauper today released the touching music video for “Not My Father’s Son,” the heartbreaking and inspiring song from her smash hit, Tony Award winning musical, Kinky Boots. Watch on YouTube here. Lauper re-imagined the song, producing and arranging a new, acoustic version of the track, released today by Sony Masterworks.
The music video, which Lauper conceived and directed herself, gives visual to one of the most important songs from the hit show – telling the story of two very different people from wildly different backgrounds who find common ground through their shared trauma. Exploring the pressure of growing up with a parent’s very narrow expectations, the song celebrates finding peace in your own skin. The video, shot in stark black and white on New York City streets, only leaps into color as the two men, who are on a physical as well as metaphorical journey, are reunited in their safe space.
“Now felt like the right time to do this,” Lauper explained. “I wanted to tell the story of two totally different men, from different walks of life, that come together to realize that it’s our differences that should bring us together. That’s inspiring. And I think we could all use some of that these days… It’s also a great way to welcome Billy and Stark back to Broadway!”
The video, which includes a special appearance by Lauper herself on guitar, stars Tony Award winner Billy Porter (whose recent studio album: Billy Porter Presents The Soul of Richard Rodgers debuted at #2 on the iTunes R&B charts) and Tony Award nominee Stark Sands (who appears alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in Spielberg’s upcoming The Papers)who both returned to Kinky Boots, reprising the lead roles they created as Lola and Charlie, respectively. They returned to the show on September 26, 2017 and will perform for a limited 15-week engagement through January 7, 2018.
