Crown A Thornz - Real - Dir: Sterling Pache

See more behind the scenes at: www.romanticchildstudios.com

Crown A Thornz is a collective composed of three wildly talented artists. J Wyze who beyond being a host at one of Toronto’s most popular radio stations Flow 93.5, is also a poet and emcee. Kolor Brown, the producer of the group is also an amazing barber, emcee and artist. Lastly, Eklipz is an emcee, graffiti artist, filmmaker and photographer.

Crown A Thornz are tempered by roots & culture, forged by inner city life, and shaped by soul, injecting reality on all lyrical levels. Together they create music that inspires reflection and conversation while making heads nod. Their sound is unique to the experience of ‘the first of the last generation’: The first generation of Caribbean parents who found their way to North America with dreams of a better life, and the last generation of the foundation Hip hop era. Crown A’ Thornz is consciousness music that addresses grown up issues about life, love, and trying to do better. It’s hustle music that speaks to the difficulties of the urban black male. It’s soul music to a generation that struggles for a better future. It’s hip hop music that is needed as an alternative to the material driven, commercial mainstream.

As I Lay Dying - 'Anodyne Sea' Directed by McFarland and Pecci

As I Lay Dying "Anodyne Sea" Music Video from mcfarlandandpecci.com on Vimeo.

Directors McFarland & Pecci craft a powerful and violent video for the band As I Lay Dying.

Directed by McFarland & Pecci and shot in the band’s hometown of San Diego, California, Anodyne Sea was shot from the POV perspective of drummer Jordan Mancino. The video tackles the issue of free speech and the worst case scenario of what could happen when you stand up for what you believe in regardless of the consequences. It is definitely not safe for work!

AS I LAY DYING frontman Tim Lambesis comments on the video and working with the directing duo; “Ian and Mike have a passion for their art and they brought us an incredible treatment. Conceptually, I enjoyed making a video that is outside the box and with a style that is incredibly unique. I'm proud of the outcome and can't wait for our fans to see it!” Technology played a crucial role in McFarland & Pecci achieving their vision. The video is shot using a custom designed helmet-cam rig with a Nikon D7000 HD-SLR camera and Teradek Cube for wireless video monitoring, both being cutting-edge video products. AS I LAY DYING’s Anodyne Sea marks the first ever music video to use this revolutionary technology, which is sure to start popping up in future music videos from artists spanning all musical genres.

Music video directors McFarland and Pecci have built a reputation for using the cinematic arts and sciences to translate the darkest moments of humanity into a visual experience. Their style is gritty, raw, sometimes controversial, and always compelling. “We collaborated closely with the band on this video to create a raw, intense look at the potential consequences for standing up for what you believe in. It is astounding to think about how many people are blind to the fact that violence is used every day to control public and personal opinion. AS I LAY DYING is to be commended for having the balls to create a video where they step outside their comfort zone and make such a relevant clip for our times” commented the directors.

Hinterland "Voixsmusik" (Luzi Katamay | Christian Dietl)

short description: this track is about hegemony of folk music in austria and the hassle to establish rap as a serious genre. we were playing with well-known cliche to put up fresh air in this obsolite controversy. And look: They have more in common than you think.
