Riz MC - "Get On It"
Riz MC’s album MICroscope is a concept album and website (www.rizmc.com/lab) with a back story involving a government agency trying to control people’s minds through sonic waves.
Using this as a starting point, the idea developed for the ‘Get On It’ video. The track lends itself to the idea of a chase and creates a strong sense of narrative throughout. Shot on location in London, the video opens with Riz being pursued by a group of dark suited men. The video has a film noir style; it is tense and dramatic and uses quick shots of Riz on the run intercut with him in his hotel room, all shot in moody dark colours. Towards the end of the video Riz opens his briefcase to reveal a strange technological device with sonic waves that seemingly kill the men chasing him. The overall impression is an enigmatic and slick thriller, perfectly matched to the energetic hip-hop/dance track.
