FYI: TVOTR video below is a spec video.
Jon Watts shot the band-approved spot on July 15-16 in Brooklyn. I assume you'll hear more about it soon.
The Lee Lenox one isn't half bad, but this is just so the self-hype doesn't get more out of hand than it already has. Kudos to most of you Ant Villians to seeing through the madness from the start.
Nice try, anyway.
hating on waverly?
i'm not much of a poster, more of a reader- but why does everyone knock waverly films? some of their stuff is better than others, sure, but after reading thru recent & classic threads there are some pretty brutal comments. just curious as to why
also, how many of you antvilleans are filmmakers and how many are solely critics?

Nothing spectacular ‘bout it, being its peppered with every Latin ghetto cliché from Jesus icons, burnin' rubber, Pitbulls, girls and gambling to Yankee and his ‘heavyweight’ belts Even the project ‘s housing stairwells echo American prison interiors
D’yah think that girl's boobs at the start r real though, and is the dancer who gets several solos, the same ‘blonde’ dancer from Yankee’s Gasolina? I luv da bass beat style production

"Zidane. A 21st Century Portrait" Dir. Douglas Gordon & Philippe Parreno, score by Mogwai
talking about pushing the boundaries of music videos, i wonder if this will qualify.
"Turner Prize-winning artist and filmmaker Douglas Gordon teams up with French artist Parreno to create a work glorious in its simplicity: training 17 cameras, both HD and super35mm, all under the supervision of acclaimed cinematographer Darius Khondji, solely on footballer Zinedine Zidane, over the course of a single match between Real Madrid and Villareal. We see the legend in action and in repose, follow him around the pitch, sometimes at the centre of action, more often waiting, watching - while, in voice-over, the footballer himself broods over what he can and cannot remember from his matches. Magnificently edited, and accompanied by a majestic score from Scottish rock heroes Mogwai, this is not only the greatest football movie ever made, but one of the finest studies of man in the workplace - an ode to the loneliness of the athlete, the poise and resilience of the human body." from the site of the edinburgh festival, where the film has its international première (apart from cannes) on 16th august.
fascinating info here.
