Eminem "Superman" : Dir. Paul Hunter
Mack 10's "Only in California" - directed by Paul Hunter
This video (from 97, I believe) was always one of my favorite Paul Hunter clips. i stumbled across his personal site and saw that this was one of the handful of videos he has up there - so he must like it too. Clearly it owes a debt to Romanek/Witkin/NIN look, but it is also a very fresh take on the hip-hop all star video. To my eyes, it was (and is) cool to see only part of Cube's face through the weird, damaged diver mask and Snoop with an ostrich. Plus the treatment references Liszt. The sepia-toned menace is a nice fit with the music as well.
Here is the video on Hunter's personal website and here is the treatment.

MARC WEBB
...he's (quietly?) emerged as the most successful rock music video director in the US.
Several of his videos have been hated on here, but a lot have been praised; usually with non-antville-friendly artists.
A sampling: All American Rejects "Move Along",Green Day "Waiting", My Chemical Romance "I'm Not Okay", Hot Hot Heat "Middle of Nowhere", Snow Patrol "Chocolate", Weezer "Perfect Situation".
What is your opinion of Director Marc Webb?
Aa (BIG A little a) -"Fingers to Fist" by Lev + Whitney
First of two videos by Lev + Whitney for Aa's (BIG A little a) upcoming album and dvd. For those unfamiliar with Aa, Thurston Moore says they make "the kindsa sounds that young people should be making and enjoying in bistros from here to Kalamazoo".

Aberdeen City "God Is Going To Get Sick Of Me", Dir: Wormseye
New from Wormseye. Similiar to the Velvet Teen video posted below.
Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold (dir. Sergio Leone)
Allow me to go a little off-topic and repeat myself, posting one of the most astonishing scenes in the history of cinema. It could easily be regarded as an avant-garde music video... :)
And here's the same piece performed live in Berlin, 2005.
