Spike Jonze - Gap ad "Pardon Our Dust"
This ad has been making the rounds, popping up on boingboing.net and so on, but Jeffrey Wells at www.hollywood-elsewhere.com has scored an original version of the ad with Peer Gynt's music. Seems someone changed the final edit to have wacky, this isn't meant to be that serious music... Trying to downplay the subversion. Here's the original, which went a long way to washing the Levy out of my brain and is one of the better ads I've seen in a long awhile. Especially the minivan bit.
Here's the retooled version where it's just ironic or something...
Protocol - Where's The Pleasure
My new favorite band, first discovered here. New video with lots of quick cuts, contrasting colors, and an Asian chick doing an interpretive dance. Cute clip in my opinion.
Link to streaming Windows media. (High bandwidth - only option I can find anywhere as of yet. Can't find any director info either.)
Link to Protocol's official site.
Enya "Amarantine" Dir: Tim Royes
This is going to be a bit boring, I'm afraid...

Baby Grand - Sweet Music of Love

Magnet: Fall At Your Feet Dir: Brendan McNamee

The last thing from Magnet was a brilliant cover of Dylan's Lay Lady Lay. This one's a great track too - and a beautiful and quirky video.

Shout Out Louds "Very Loud" dir. Ted & Tom Malmros
This is a sweet little winter-themed video from the Swedish band Shout Out Louds.

The Stars live
Got to post this today, cause I saw them play last night (opening up for Bloc Party) and they are soooo damn lovely live:
» .wmv/dsl » more formats at fabchannel (req. flash8)
This is a one-hour-stream of The Stars’ show at the Paradiso in Amsterdam — open a bottle of wine, switch your player to full screen, sit back, enjoy … (Their upcoming show in Amsterdam tomorrow, starting 19:30 CET, will be webcast as well on fabchannel, again together with Bloc Party) » stars2005.fabchannel.com
Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Wizard in Winter (director: Carson Williams)
Wizard in Winter, performed by Christmas lights (WMV)
An intriguing bit of American folk art, this is an actual unedited video of a Christmas decoration that doubles as a single-shot music video. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I lived across the street from the guy, but it's great to see on video.
Background on the display courtesy of Snopes.
short "Supamonks", track Ace-Out "We're Right", anim. Sébastien Hô, Julien Bagnol & Florian Landouzy
and now, for something completely different...

Feeder "Just a Day" Dir: David Mould (2001)
Has anyone ever seen this clip? I've never heard of it and it keeps popping up on messageboards where people discuss the best videos they've ever seen.
I can't find a link online but I guess I'd be interested to hear what it's all about.

Offtopic - Video Converting (mp4, mov)
Thats a bit Offtopic, but i want to know what is the best way to convert videos to mp4 movs. i tested a lot but nothing really works. i got same results with sorensen 3. I wonder that the "Blur" Video got such a great quality and its only 6 MB big, it´s 4 minutes long, and has a bitrate from 24 kb/sec. How this can be? videos.antville.org I try "Canopus Pro Coder", "Videora", "Quicktime Pro" but i never got such results. Which tools do you use for converting videos for the web?
