Deloris - Playing the Spaces - Aussie Indi band
This is a clip we finished last year for melbourne band Deloris..it was shot over about 10 hours.. We shot on panasonic dvx100a with the song slowed to 80%..once sped up it had a nice 'herky jerky' quality to it..
Lemme know what you think..low,low budget

two other recent animation videos for epo-555. one's for "le beat's on fire", another one for "pre-emptive stroke". the latter is actually a fairly humorous, half-animated making-of of the former. both were completed within one single week (and are also credited to jan callesen)

olivier gondry's "bricoleur"
i didnt see this up here yet . so here is oliver gondry's video for "bricoleur" by les fils de theuphu. i like that you can see the arts and crafts feel to this video as opposed to the hot hot heat one up here a while ago that just was too slick that the effect was lost because it just seemed like an after effects trick.
sorry not a direct link...this takes you to the player and then you just pick it from the 5 videos listed
Four Tet "Smile Around The Face" (dir. Dan Wilde)
Amazing new single from Four Tet. Video is an okay take on the camera-mounted-on-a-person-extreme-closeup (or whatever it's called) genre.
The Mighty Sweet - Park, Park
A lighthearted indie rock video that takes a jab at the prescription drug industry and their misleading advertising tactics. Inspired by the upcoming feature film "MEND".

On Death: Blanche "Someday..."
As much as I'm not a stereotypical Appalachian fella, I do enjoy the music that seeps out of these hills. "Someday..." is an A-B-A song. It begins with a soft, echoy intro, then shifts into some manic banjo/steel guitar stylings, then ends with this beautiful, haunting cadence.
The video, dir. Kevin Carrico in Nov 2004, is in the style of a silent film, and features a gathering of old people watching Blanche (a 5-person band) on stage in a church. There are 3 singers, the female singer is a bit Kate Pierson-looking, big wig, southern.
During B two guys sing twangily back and forth, manically.
At the end cadence, the woman taunts us slowly, "Some... day... You will find out..." This is when the video gets utterly f-ing brilliant. It fades between shots of each band member, the bizarre scene of that members' death, then to an old person's tear, etc..
City folk have way too much say in what gets inputted into videos.
The Thrills - The Irish Keep Gatecrashing
