Who's Your Daddy! Strawberry Fields Forever Directed by Mareesa Stertz using HDR
STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER by Who's Your Daddy!
WATCH IN 720 HD PLEASE! Strawberry Fields Forever was shot using a tone mapping HDR process. Our search to match the psychedelic mood of the song led to the re-appropriating of a 3D beam splitter rig and aligning two identical cameras on it to capture the same image (instead of off axis as is typical). Once shot and edited, we used Aftereffects to combine the shots- using a custom process that worked most of the time- to create a look with more detail in the highlights and shadows. We encountered a handful of issues ranging from the size of the camera rig and inability to be mobile/or pull focus, to shutter sync issues and camera alignment, and even coming up with our own post workflow to effectively combine the video tracks. Once we more or less conquered these hurdles, the combined video clips were ran through one more color treatment to normalize and create the product that is in front of you now.
