danielson famile
one of the greatest bands i know of. they create amazing music that worships God. but not like you think compared to a cross between the osmonds, a junior high marching band and the violent femmes.great indie rock for those who hate "christian" music www.creativearson.com

In the movie trailer we get like 3-4 seconds worth of some kind of animated paper mache like promo(?) I know it's only 4 seconds, but it's already better than every single after effects promo ever made.
It looks like southpark in stopmotion. Well, I don´t really agree with this hype about handmade now. So because everybody can afford a Computer fast enough to edit videos, digital works automatically become unattractive, while some child drawing is the next big thing? Of course, an effect too much seen becomes boring, but can you translate this to a whole tool, or even medium? I think the important thing is what I want to express and which tool I choose for doing this. As one can (and should) focus on one tool to master it effectively, I guess that you can say the same thing with different tools in different ways, which aren´t better or worse. So I personally wouldn´t say that some papercut is "already better than every single after effects promo ever made" (Well, sincerely I might add that my weapon of choice is the computer ;)
handmade is good (I like handmade), and after effects is also good. the reason afx videos are so boring lately, is because they all lynch the same poor feature. 3d layers, for example, can be a great tool if used as a tool and not as a concept.
what i'm saying is that it's not after effects that makes those videos boring, and handmade is not what's going to save them.
that paper cut stop motion is from one of their music videos. it is available on the tooth and nail video samplers, the old skoolvhs, it may be now on dvd. totally handmade, no digital fx here. goodstuff. it fits the band, who make their own costumes, clothing line, etc.
