Magnifico: "Hir aj kam hir aj go"
City Records is a turbo-folk music label from Serbia. This video clip features their artist Magnifico and the song "Hir aj kam hir aj go" (Serbian transliteration of "Here I Come, Here I go"). For those who are not familiar with "turbo-folk", there's a great article by Bruce Sterling on the subject.
i'm not too sure about the music, see, i actually like balkanese folk music, but there wasn't enough folk in it... but the young helge schneider wearing the same clothes as brad pitt in oceans 12 and shaking his booty in a garage, that's exactly the kind of stuff i like.
thanks for that one and keep coming back with more.
Freaky! 70s porno aesthetic, tons of self-parody, and a bit of congo line shtick too--sort of what Weird Al Yankovich would be like if he had come up through the Serbian mob with a reputation for fondling his warehouse employees. I can see this being performed at the next Superbowl half-time show; just hope the guy can keep it in his pants.
This is not turbo folk music from Serbia but from Slovenia
