i've been downloading all these killer music videos and decided to make good use of the hours and hours of time i spend here in antville by performing an awesome set of the best i've found here and my secret MVD.

at night, i normally spin vinyl of old postpunk and deathrock now but use to do live electronic music and visual remixing a few years back (by day, i program music and record bands when not in a film or music video shoot).

i fucking love good, banned, and fugly music videos so i'm always junkin' here on antville as well as collecting resfest dvds and shit. so, when i was invited to play my girly's party, i didn't want to just play the same shit as everyone else. i put together a tight indie/electroclash/downtempo set based on the best mv's i've found.

i'm doing it the oldschool way...three video sources: (2) laptops; (1) vhs, and routed the video sends into a monitor and a 4 channel mixer that can cut, fade, chroma, and shit, while i have the audio sources patched into a dj mixer i have with turntables and cd mixers (for adding spice to the sound only). i don't plan to fuck up the videos much with self-indulgent effects...just enough to transition...that way i can still drink in the middle of the songs.

Sounds pretty great and I really appreciate you exposing people to what I imagine will be some high quality music videos. You should advertise antville maybe? Maybe.

yeah nice one, we do this kinda thing where i live in the uk. but we also do short film nights, its cool cos youre in a club or bar having a drink and watching quality moving image. always a good night out! good stuff :)

cool! yea, i was in the uk (london/bristol) a year and a half ago and was able to play on XFM live with this dj i met in tokyo. his name is nick luscombe and he hosted electronic music shows. i met him through a friend at a random yakitori pub and he said, 'if ever...' so i totally took him up to it! =D when i was on tour with resfest, i went for that shit!!!

i played a live p.a. set in the radio studio with a laptop and an external fx processor. i heard it was broadcasted online too with a live cam. he said in a conversation a year later that since i came to do that, they've had regular performers come in. i told him i'd be interested in coming to do an audiovisual show after he took me to some multimedia museum/bar place in picadilly(?)

i've lost contact with him though. but, that would be so fucking tight!!! a free ticket, beer, some quid, and a chance to represent san francisco would be so fucking awesome! hook it up!!
