lets face it: this is just as retarded as the jessica simpson video. we just like it cause its kitchy. in 30 years, the jessica simpson video will have the same value to our children.

That’s not the point, though. The styling is dated, yes. And it’s a little daft and cheesy – it was made years ago for crying out loud. But you can hardly compare it to the Simpson video, which is of a bad cover that panders to the lowest common denominator of beer guzzling shit-eating white trash and flabby uneducated teens that aspire to the cult of celebrity. It amazes me that they made such a mess of such a great song. I don’t think the cover and its video are going to have the same resonance in 30 years. But, who knows? Perhaps someone will bring out a cover of her cover and Jessica Simpson will be held up as the true genius only she knows she is. No doubt time will prove me wrong.

'these boots' is one of the most famous videos from the scopitone era of the 60's. the appeal of these videos surpass style and stigma, c'mon now. the fact that they are all relatively horrible to our standards now have everything to do with their invention back in the 60's. they are...roots, sort of speak. scopitones...you know, the video game looking thing that were popularized first in france back in the early(?) 60's and featured channels with MUSIC VIDEOS of then wonderful imagery to familiar or pioneering music.

they should be enjoyed with respect for their primitivity and out loud cheeziness, dunchathink? the worse...the better!!! =D
