new hummer commercial
the same director of we have decided not to die and Unkle reign does a hummer commercial...
i'd probably say this is his best work. the first two thirds made me edgy, though.
yeah.... I hate Hummers, but I like most Hummer commercials.
Does anyone remember that one with the soapbox derby and the Who song "Happy Jack" - basically, the scrappy underdog builds a Hummer soapbox, all the kids laugh at him, then he wins the race by taking an all-terrain short cut.
My thought was, since when was the Hummer the car for the scrappy underdog? If ever there was "The official vehicle of assholes" it's the Hummer.
Still, I guess it makes for better advertising than a spot where some muscleman does steroids, eats a giant steak, date rapes a girl and then drives off in his Hummer.
At least it would be aimed at the correct demographic. I guess you have to bite your tongue sometimes. Can't wait for that Halliburton brief to come in though....
actually I much prefer his short film and reign, I found them stylistically more "cool". the whole expressionistic dance thing in this didn't do it for me, but maybe it does for a hummer demographic, who knows. But the construction of the car is brilliant.
yeah, the dance stuff is a bit hippy drippy and does jar with the 'hardness' of the car. An odd marriage.
totally odd. almost two different ideas that personally I feel clash in an ineffective manner.
at last a hummer for gays.
