Video for Scapegoat by Atmosphere
That video is the prequel to another entitled Game by Okay
Short Film: Seven Twenty
that atmosphere video stinks in a big way
yeah pretty weak. The dude looks too cool to play a nerd.
And what's with the ending? They gas him or something?
I must agree about Scapegoat. As a narrative, it seems stereotypical and false. Not really sure the second one worked as a 'sequel'. Were they shot back to back by any chance?
The second, I enjoyed though. I liked the image of the guy stranding himself in the lake and I like the idea of the treasure in the lake turning out to be a piece of urban detritus - an enduring image of thwarted optimism. I also liked the Technicolor vibe to the grade. I think the central theme of the story could have gone further and was disappointed with the happy ending seemed like an easy option.
The short had a nice idea at it's centre, but ultimately didn't go anywhere. I loved the image of the 'clock hands' though.
Concept aside, I see a photographers eye at work. Despite the low budget, all three had a strong visual sense, each containing at least one great still. It's the still above that enticed me in in the first place.
