New Devendra Banhart Video "I Feel Just Like A Child"
Directed by Galen Pehrson. Real media files here.
okay mr banhart, you are a real weirdo and i am content to watch you do your flower child monkey shorts dance for a minute or two, but then i expect snakes to erupt out of your eyeballs or something. & this is hardly one of your best tracks is it? forgettable.
i cracked up. this song needed some visual freak power to come alive. his personal crazy-dude-dom is quite enough for me. if there had been more, it might be overkill.
meh. Don't know what to think when you have a dude all ready going nuts and then some lackluster visuals/concept to accompany this. Anyone can think of a dozen concepts that involve a freaked-out shirtless hippie that would be better than this.
i really like his music, but this song is definately...well...does it sound a LOT like rainy day women #12 and 35 to anybody else?
what a plain boring video, was there anything worth watchin about it?
For those who cannot appriciate a portrait of an artist performance, there is an animated version aswell, Which is fucking amazing.
This version is the stripped down, "label" version for promo use.

YES, wilsonwilson! it does sound an awful like "rainy day women #12 & 35"
if there is a bunch of hype for devendra maybe it will bury him like it did conor, and should antony and kanye...
gwan: any link to the, erm, dressed-up version?
It might sound a bit like dylan, but it wants to sound like the rolling stones sympathy for the devil era, and it very much wants to look like it too. A bit dissapointing since I was under the impression that this Devendra was a more unique fellow.
This track is not the best on the album, check out the some of the other songs at xlrecordings.com
The animated version is the US version and will be released on the 22nd, I did the video, so i appriciate the input... the version above was made to apease the label and alow for the more creative version to be made, but before its totaly discounted, i will say that i think his performance stands on it own, in a time when no directors ever show a true portrait of the artist, and above all its fun.
