YUCK GROSS please stop posting crappy live videos of crappy bands, thanks, UNfortunately this is a site about artsy music videos and i doubt this really has anything interesting going on in the video

         

and I thought it was a site about videos per se. taste is questionable, debatable but not dictatable. let hexa and whoever else might be inclined suggest whatever they want, you're limiting yourself and others.

         

kd, i don't think you should make this into an issue of freedom of speech or close-mindedness. these live clips are not music videos any more than a bike is a car.

         

To add on to roboshobo's and doubleplus' points--you can look up and down this website and notice what genres and types of bands are represented, and Good Charlotte fits none of them. If you enjoy Good Charlotte, fine--but that's not the point.

         

it's not like I'm gonna defend that crap myself but I do wish to keep this site an open-for-all submissions platform. the benefit of such a project lies in its ability to expose one to whatever one otherwise might not have come across. freedom of speech? fuck no, that's not the issue. close-mindedness? yeah. arrogance is a good word for it as well.

         

I don't think anyone thinks of stuff like this as a music video. It's a video recording of a live performance.... not to be confused with a performance video, which has some element of concept & execution, even if it's from a concert.

and we'll all opine about those two terms and that's fine (in fact, that's the whole point), but as captain and robo note: this ain't neither.

         

Not for nothing guys, but it is pretty obviously an in studio, live performance, of Good Charlotte. if that is not your cup of tee, you probably shouldn't click on it. In which case approximately .3 seconds of your time was wasted passing it over. Nothing compared to the 5 min wasted logging on and posting a comment about how you shouldn't post live performances of Good Charlotte on here. It's an open site, that's sort of the way it's gonna have to work, at least it’s not another car skidding video. who knows, maybe the creator of antville’s original intention was to show this very kind of work. Maybe he is a huge pop rock fan and wanted to create a nurturing environment to bring his love to the masses. Then sadly, it was over taken by a bunch of video snob dorks who destroyed his fragile utopia.

And yes, Good Charlotte do indeed fucking suck.

         

I think the issue is more with Good Charlotte sucking than anything else. I posted an Animal Collective live performance here not too long ago and no one seemed to care. In fact, I can remember at least two people commenting positively.
