The Stills - Destroyer
one of the most underrated bands around. obviously they need a better director for their next video(s). their new record is fantastic and deserves a much better video than this. somebody needs to hook them up with a good director finally. still a great band though.

I think the video misses becauses it sets up the idea of going to this high school and cross-pollineating with these very interesting looking high school kids but then barely shows them. It'd be a cool video if it followed the band kids home and showed what their bedrooms looked like, etc.

I don't understand the semi-positive reception these guys are getting. This isn't very good music (as trad as it is)... and the video? That editing is nausea-inducing.
You're confused because other people like music that you don't like? You thought you were the ultimate arbiter of what is or is not good music? Let me guess, you're one of those guys who thinks music is only good if other people haven't heard it before. Ok, I admit I didn't really guess that, I just took a look at your blog.

um, this video is horrible. i mean, there's absolutely nothing there at all. it's as if the high school media lab made it. "let's just throw a bunch of dolly shots in there to make it really awesome." the editing, the lighting, the color correct (or lack of)...
c'mon guys, get some standards.
justjoan: when you say, "c'mon guys, get some standards" do you mean the Stills or people commenting on this video. No one above has said the video is any good, even though familiar, with familiar's typical reading comprehension skills, may have inferred otherwise.
What is this, ESL? Maybe I should eliminate any punctuation more advanced than commas and periods, and stick to two-syllables or less.

i just wish the new album had at least one song with a chorus, but nope... it's like verse, verse, verse, verse, bridge, verse, fade-out... so boring. it seems that lots of bands lately are afraid of writing something that's remotely catchy. as if a pop hook will instantly comprimise your integrity or credibility....
and the video was ok. you're right- the director should have expounded on the school theme. sorry about the soap-box. i'm off it now.
This video is a good expression of the album because both STINK. BOOOOOOO to the Stills and this lame ass video. The drummer should have stayed behind the drums.
