Balun - Cuidado Al Caminar (DIR: Joel Perez Irizarry)
Cuidado Al Caminar (Be Careful When You Walk). This is just about the sweetest video you could see. It draws a bit form Blur's "Coffee and TV", without the budget.
If you're into Broken Social Scene and lo-fi bands, you should check out Balun. There's some MP3s at their site, and a few songs at MySpace.
A real cracker... which droops towards the end. Lots of crazy in-camera ideas. If only they'd kept it up.
Thanks for your comments! I can use all the feedback I can get. I have done short films and t.v. before, but never a music video. I did this to see if I could do something diferrent in the boring local music video scene. We shot it with an artbox, which basically consisted of a Panasonic DVX100A rigged toguether to an old Graflex 4X5 medium format still camera. The DV camera is pointed to the ground glass of the medium format camera creating the black ring effect and crushing the depth of field. Is a very archaic lense making a nice effect, but nonetheless it will take out at least 7 stops of your DV Camera, making it almost imposible to shoot indoors. The rig with the two cameras can be a little bulky (ours weighted almost 50pounds) we hired an O'connor head for more stability.
