Elysian fields - a new life. director ?
WTF is this shit?
What's up with the nudity?
This is a series of clips taken from French film "La Vie Nouvelle" ("The New Life").
FYI: "The New Life" is director Philippe Grandrieux's second feature. His first film was "Sombre," which I highly recommend -- that film's first 30 minutes or so are some of the most beautiful, visceral, disturbing, and exhilarating stuff I've ever seen. All of the virtually dialogue-less film is underexposed on purpose with an excellent soundtrack by Suicide's front man, Alan Vega. Grandrieux, who comes from documentaries and experimental cinema, frames and shoots all his films. I personally find "The New Life" too pretentious and self-referential. "Sombre" is it. An absolute must see. As for the YouTube clip: again, it shows excerpts from "The New Life" over tracks from the film's original soundtrack -- mostly made up of industrial music tracks.
