THE WORD OF THE DAY by Jérôme Derathé - kidam
This is a short movie that was made to show at a Superhabituel night where musicians improvised music on it. I added "Fawn" by Tom Waits afterwards. 2 hours shooting, one night editing, this was the rule! It's not a music video, but I hope it's ok to post it here.
jey - just a little too reminiscent of "six drummers", and not a tight enough edit (tho i presume that's cos of the tight deadline). however: mad skills these guys. i kept thinking they need to hook up with jamie lidell.
i know i could cut 3 minutes down at least. It doesn't work as much on a tv screen as in a venue with a band improvizing the music live. But i'm not sure i'll ever do it:) They're all amazing musicians, Cyril plays in Bumcello (www.bumcello.com) and he's the drummer of the big french star -M-. Marcello has been playng bass with Erik Truffaz for ten years and Julien was clown for Le Cirque Du Soleil for 10 years, he's an amazing actor, mime, musician... I love the six drummers, thanx! and I'm gonna check Jamie Lidell.
