Hundarna från söder - Please don't - Daniel Bjugard / Derek Picken
Really beautiful anti war video by the awardwinning swedish electronic act "hundarna från söder"
buff - you guys really need to do something about your ui. clunky flash, no qt or download option, constant buffering (i take it that that's what your name is short for? burning tv: the buffering barn) - do yourselves (and the bands) a favour: get (them) more exposure through less closure.
i agree that the video quality of the short is pretty lame, but other than that this is a really keen vid' and should be checked out by everyone! ...didn't even get preachy.
hey progosk,
I appreciate constructive critics but your buffering problem probably has more to do with you internet connection than anything else, (and it has defenately nothing to do with my nickname)
buffy... just a jest...
but - seriously:
- i'm on a pretty normal broadband connection, so quite a lot of folks are going to have to suffer the buffer. if there's no way around that, at least have it buffer alll at the beginning
- are you sure going the mtvoverdrive road is the right showcase format for independent swedish videos? it feels as though you're trying to be a channel - my guess is you night be more of a magnet as a place. so with things like comments, users, favourites, links, sticky stuff like that.
- i cannot understand why labels don't do everything to make their videos downlad/poddable. there's no chance they're going to be selling these videos, so why not ensure you get them (as easily as possible) to as many people as possible?
- you get the videos in some simple master format (which you made the screencaps from) - why not offer those as viewing options too?
- the list of "today's videos" doesn't give me any incentive to stick around and discover the songs: if i don't already know them (or the band) already, there's not even a thumbnail to entice me.
- the site's design is all neat and in good taste - it just feels kind of embalmed, rather than alive and kicking.
ok. end of "constructive" rant.
i had no problems watching it. the quality was comparable to youtube but a little better but it didn't bother me. i really appreciate someone working with type because no one seems to anymore. i also like the simplicity and the somewhat repetitive nature of the symbols and their range of motion. it works well.
I heard 3 seconds of music after 10 minutes of buffering :(
Yeah, I had problems playing it too. Come on, give us the downloadable file!
Yep. Watched about a quarter before it jumped back to the beginning. I'm on 1mb broadband.
Being 'reset' is something of an interest killer.
Give the user control. Go Quicktime.
