yeah! a lot of people haven't seen these videos and wouldn't ever see them if they weren't put here. Let's face it, the cleaky n geeky antville times are over as too many people are tuning in. I agree YouPoo is shite quality but it is introducing bands and videos to a huge audience. Then antville becomes a place of discussion, which is, i assume, what it was supposed to be in the first place, no?

Personally I wonder if the bountiful classic postings are having a net loss effect on site viewership as a whole? The front page becomes a bit ADD, though I think that could help be alleviated thru a bit of a revamp of the site design, as slashdot recently did. This site thrives on discussion, true, but its reliance on 'new, hot' videos - as well as its ant qualities - has been its trump card over all the other video blogs, in my opinion, because it attracted not just us bottom feeders, but the creatives themselves.
Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe all you creatives (as evidence is so far suggesting) love seeing classics here?
Finally, as we are always harping, YouTube files can't be downloaded by podcasters, which limits your video's audience, and lessens the quality of 'the antville channel'.
Simple. Stop YouTube postings. If the video is really worth posting, there'll always be a better link. I have to admit the last two weeks, there's been a LOT of shit posted. Before people flap and moan and kick off, think about it, YouTube dilutes the medium we're all into, so taking it out of the equation should set the balance right again...

- hopefully the pace of antville won't speed up too much - ejaculatio precox is a common occurrence for first-timers, mainly.

I'm tired of reading about the Youtube debate on here.
I suggest that no video should be posted unless there is a QT/HQ option.
Although compression is charming in its own way, don't take the time and effort to post a video unless you can do it some justice.
