Nerina Pallot "Sophia" Dir. John Hillcoat
No blue screen here. Shot in the desert wilds of Morocco in the midst of the recent UK airport chaos and therefore pyrotechnic shipping hassles amazingly this came together and is an incredible and beautiful interpretation of a classic song by Australian director John Hillcoat (The Proposition).

Doesnt work. They cant even follow their own concept. This video is supposed to end with her up in flames as well.
nice work by d.o.p. callinggard sorry track (fire/sophia - oh please); you can just see the labelmen hoping this will garner them a spot of the apple/spektor segment...
what is it with ladies and burning pianos?

(the corresponding male lineage being nam june paik, alejandro jodorowski and jerry lee lewis)
also, compare fire-circle-in-desert-performance-while-instruments-burn with this. (which, having watched it again in qt, i must admit to being more impressed by than first time round.)
yes, yes, everything's been done. still some amazing images.
yeah, nothing original... but what are you going to do? The song sounds like everything else as well. Surely the video reflects that perfectly. This is a pop song for the vacuous MOR-loving squeeky-clean dullards who've overplayed their James Blunt albums... the video panders to this and doesn't take us near anything remotely surprising, interesting, challenging or even emotional. A perfect synergy of sight and sound!
