Jet "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" Director: Robert Hales
Jet come out with a great single after three years of absence, and a video to go with it. If you notice, the video is low-budget and just shows them performing. Everytime the band sings their chorus, an effect happens to the camera. The video kind of reminded me of Wolfmother's "Woman" because of that effect. Their new album, "Shine On", is supposed to be released October 3rd worldwide.
I think this is Robert Hales @ HSI...? I could be wrong, the stream on this video was pap and I couldn't make out a great deal but it just looks like Sam Bayer (also on HSI's roster) lent him his magic box of 'Authentic' film effects... Boring as far as I could tell.
Yep, Hales - won best dir. at VMAs for Gnarls
I Wonder how much agonising brow furrowing creative musing was necessary to decide upon "just the right mix" of artistically applied film effects. And throughout the process nobody flagged the fact that THE BLOODY IMAGE DOSENT MOVE WITH THE JITTER. Dickheads, go and watch Fight Club and the Tyler durden push in jitter effect a few times. Better yet just get Fincher to make the video and don’t waste our time with wallpaper.
Hale's video for Gnarls is amazing. But this is just a poor aesthetic ripoff of Fincher's superior video "Judith" for A Perfect Circle, one of the best shot performance videos ever.
Yep, saw this on rage on the weekend.. very average...
