Janet Jackson "So Excited (And I Just Can't Hide It?)" Dir: Joseph Kahn
Kahn: "Hype, this is how you make a Janet Jackson video"
Hype: "KAAAHHHHNNN!!!!"
Need to know how much the budget was before can comment. Also, a breakdown of how much the director makes, etc.
no rockit ref from jk? unless Khia on the TV was it?
I thought this was miles better than the Fabric-Store Janet and Pirate Nelly for the first single. That sepia toned look in a large but distressed space feels a lot like the video Paul Hunter did off her last album - the one they shot in the Alexandria with the "Damita Jo" neon sign. That probably means it was the artist's idea. The "oops we're naked, now we're not" effect was well-done and clever. The thing that stuck out like a sore thumb was the appearance of the BRIGHT yellow Lambo. Thematically it made no sense and the color was a shock that was outside the look of the rest of the clip. The spinning aerial chair was also Britney-esque for JK. A much improved video, but not sure if it makes anyone rush out and buy the CD.
Yes, wish they'd made much more of the wardrobe-functioning-properly-now jump-cuts. A teasingly spare original idea.
As for that canary Lambourghini... reminds me of the rogue frames-of-penis Brad Pitt inserts into films when working in a fleapit in Fight Club

Yes,I agree. BTW, that video ["All Nite (Don't Stop)"] was directed by Francis Lawrence.
Minus the flashlights, and as stated its not the same set its still rather deja vu Shades ov Maneater too All told though, its a solid clip!
it was just too too much. it should have been either a dance video or a concept video. the two did not marry well and whenever kahn talks about revolutionary effects (like the skeletons in the bedroom) it just comes off as super-cheesy. i thought the clothes on/off was interesting but it just didn't fit with the dance segments of the video or the wardrobe. overall it just didn't feel original. it felt like, well, a kahn video. take pieces from videos you've made (britney's chair spinning effect), take some other pieces from videos others have made (too many to list), and mix all together for something new and incredible.
the car was almost as awkward as seeing khia's mug and jd with some naked girl showering behind him for no reason.
francis lawrence did this video before and did it much better with solid, interesting visuals.
