Murena - Export Tripoli (dir. Philipp Mühlbauer)
This clip takes the silhouette effect, delivered world wide by the iPod campaigns, and gives it a whole new twist.

moments that were really nice & inventive, but many many more moments that were utter shite - namely the suggestion of how it was done at the end which was a howler. Some nice delicate stuff that managed to be ruined overall. Whoops.
reminds me a lot of leftchannel's recent fantomas piece.
I loved the ending because is so obviously fake. :D
Viusally, this was neat.
Brilliant. Captain Beefheart meets Terry Gilliam armed with cardboard cutouts.
Incidentally, I don't think that this is as sophisticated as Apple's iPod campaign: and whilst the end is odd I don't think it detracts - I don't even think the video was made that way.
@puttyfingers You're right with the ending, but I don't think it ruins the movie that much. It's just to illustrate the idea, that the movie could have been done that way not to really make people believe it was. And there are still people, askin me if the movie was really made by men in white clothes with huge black pieces of paper. This was a zero time, zero budget thing so at the end I didn't have the time to smoothen the transition.
About the LeftChannel piece. I can only say, that I had the finished visual concept, characters and storyboard for my movie in September 2005. The first time I saw their film was, when they released the bitfilm nominees. There are many similarities an theirs is much better executed technically. But I think Export Tripoli has more of the rough vibe and style of old Silhouette-Movies.
