Ah, the 'joy' of DV cam-shot, PC-edited music videos shot on location in a wood.

It's childish to want people whose point of view you don't respect to like your work. So I definitely DON'T want to change your mind, Visual-Hybrid. Please hate Manshake and everything else we make...

But I'm worried your comments will discourage antville readers from even giving the video a shot -- and I know a lot of cool people read this blog from the emails, blog-attention and work we've gotten through antville before -- so I'm responding.

The video (shot on 8mm analog vid not DV) looks the way it's supposed to look. If we had ten times the budget we wouldn't have used a different camera, shot somewhere else or shot in a different way.

The culture of the music and the context of the video's meaning/humor make the reasons seem obvious to me (as well as why a bigger budget wouldn't even be appropriate or relevant).

But maybe they're not -- I'd be happy to talk to anybody about my artistic/production/business decisions more over email: lev[at]balldeep[dot]tv.
