Incubus "Anna Molly" (Dir: Jamie Thraves)

There was a short story/film that this was lifted from, anyone remember what it was? Regardless this didn't work. a rare miss for mr. thraves.
There was a TV film on UK telly last year, Messiah V: The Harrowing. A body is found but the post mortem interrupted when the person is found to have been renedered dead physically but is sentient as their body is cut open. One for the next Saw outing, methinks.
This video's utterly competent (enjoyed the song) but I feel this intercutting of parallel stories is something of a cop out.
thraves tropes galore: person lying down, cop comes over, crouches down, (the wrist-grab specular to the "don't touch me!"), meanwhile in a flat by the window a dude in a band gets uptight. beautifully composed, lit & shot, but - just a little too meta ...
Arg! That bastard Thraves. The video is based on one of the best, most frightening episodes of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" where a guy gets into a car accident, breaks his neck and is paralized in the first couple of minutes of the episode. Then the whole show takes place in his head, through narration. He can move his fingers and that's all, so he thinks he can alert the police that he's still alive, but then his hands get trapped behind his back on the gurney. Finally, right before they're about to put him in the freezer, one of the attendees at the morgue sees a tear coming out. It's a terrifying 30 minutes, some of the best tv ever. And I'd always held that idea in my back pocket, hoping to do a video with it. Ah well. If the idea had to go with anyone, I wouldn't want it to be with anyone else but Thraves.
It was an old twilight zone (or maybe Alfred Hitchcock presents) where a guy gets paralyzed in a car wreck and everyone thinks he's dead until the coroner notices a single tear running down his face.
Yeah, the episode was called "Breakdown." Here's the synopsis: www.tv.com
One of my favorite movies, Danger Diabolik, uses the same idea. The main character gives himself some sort of psuedo-scientific drug that makes him appear dead for several hours so that he can escape the police. Then he wakes up just as the mortician is about to cut him open with a scalpel. I'd say it's a pretty old idea, it's been used a lot of places. Although I do want to see that Breakdown episode now.
Speaking of Danger Diabolik some one needs to post the Beastie Boys - Body Moving Ya video.
Romeo & Juliet maybe?
